Rundown Of Aura

This is about to get confusing. Aura magic has to do with auras [which we covered in basics], aura-borealis and connecting with other beings with auras. One with aura magic is able to bend and create magical aura-borealis to their will. They are able to attack with it. Most notably, aura magic users are able to manipulate the aura of another magic user or their own.

Common Aura Moves

Aura-borealis: An aura magic user is able to summon aura-borealis and manipulate it to their will. This aura-borealis can function outside of their aura's radius, meaning it can be used as a projectile. Aura magic appears slightly transparent and appears in a myriad of colourful gradients. This magic is by default, weaker than most other projectile magics.

Aura manipulation: Aura magic users may manipulate another user's aura [or their own, for whatever reason] to possibly turn their powers against them, or to weaken the opponent's attacks. An especially straining and difficult to pull off but very powerful move an aura user could pull is they could manipulate the size of their opponent's aura, collapsing it on them, it would be a battle of aura control between the victim and the aura user. This would be extremely damaging to one party and extremely straining to the other. An aura user is able to sense other auras near them, they could take advantage of these two powers and collapse their own aura to hide from other aura users. Aura users are also capable of lending their aura's powers to another party, given they are in the aura user's aura. This will boost the target's attack power and stamina.

Aura connection: As aura users grow and expand their knowledge and skill on their magic, they will grow an enhanced connection to the world around them, including being able to sense the slight yet existing aura of plants and animals nearby. An aura user at this level may be able to directly communicate with elementals. Aura users are able to 'share' their emotions to anything in their aura at this level, at base level, this will effect other aura users in their aura, at insane levels, it may effect non-emotional beings such as plants. Aura users may 'synchronize' with each other given they are in each other's auras.

Aura Magic's Aura

Aura users are able to emotionally connect with other beings within their aura, deeply sense others within their aura, and affect flora within their aura. Aura users are also capable of making their aura visible, glowing with Aura [borealis], though this usually only happens if done as a party trick or if the aura user's emotions become too intense.

Aura Elementals

Aura elementals can be found all throughout the world though they tend to stick in groups and hang around areas of importance. Aura elementals can be found seeking those worthy of following Pathas's quest. Aura elementals are not afraid to strike down on those unworthy of such a quest, and thus should be considered dangerous. Aura elementals are not always violent though, as some enjoy hanging around common beings out of curiosity, though this tends to not go their way since common beings fear elementals and have found ways to capture them.

Overusing Aura Magic

Long-time use of aura magic can lead to enhanced experiences with nature and your emotions, though this may lead to overstimulation. Additionally, it may have effects on your body such as areas you commonly disperse magic from [hands, horns, ect] falling apart, leaving holes in the body as they themselves have begun to turn into aura magic. Using aura magic long-term has mental effects too, as their connections with nature and emotions grow, so does their chances of connecting with Pathas, this is a bad thing as Pathas will attempt to make you a vessel for its biddings. Absorbing too much aura magic during a ritual can be fatal, they would become greatly overstimulated leading to mental breakdowns and begin to leak aura-borealis out of their orifices, which is usually a sign of the user's to-be death.

Ritual

In aura rituals there are three commonly associated sigils:

The sigil for aura magic itself,

The sigil for Pathas, the Eternal Being.

& The sigil for the Ave lineage, the current Aura magic source on Deafu. It consists of three beings, Ave [deceased], Sava [deceased] & Lem.

In aura rituals, ashy wildflowers, stalk grass, and veilweed must be burnt. To make the ritual stronger, one can use materials from Pathas' biome such as great roots. Animal offerings from Pathas' biome are not accepted in rituals to connect with Pathas, though Lem does not want animal sacrifices of any kind.

Aura Being Biome

Pathas manifested on Deafu as the greatroot, a huge series of roots that grew throughout the planet. It is mostly underground, and rarely reaches the surface, so most of the biome can be found in caves. Pathas' biome is a lush area of a variety of plants, which can all be used in rituals. It is thick as a jungle down there, it is not recommended you travel in this biome alone, as you could easily become lost or entrapped within the plants.

Great roots can be found here, they are smaller bundles of root that grow off of the greatroot itself. Badly damaging the greatroot will not go without consequence. Pathas would likely send its elementals after you. You will rarely find creatures in Pathas' biome aside from elementals, but a rare kind of lizard dwells down here. It is extremely venomous.

Aura Eternal Being

Pathas, also known as 'the pure' is a manipulative dickhead. They seek to 'guide' beings to restore the magic to themselves, but ultimately they will take over someone's psyche without care. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Pathas' 'core' can be found in the middle of the Eternal caves, where the Eternal Being's biomes collide.

Aura Magickeeper

The current Aura magickeeper's name is Lem, they are extremely passive and would rather hide away in their section of 'The Haven', where The Higherup and his children reside.

Sava was the previous Aura magickeeper. It was a special case, as it had left The Haven and entered common society, but was killed by commoners as they wished to find out what made the magickeepers so special. The commoners turned on Sava, ripping it open trying to figure out what made it above them. But once Sava had died, the vast amount of magic they were sourcing escaped, and a large aura explosion was released, killing anyone in the vicinity. The Higherup had to re-gather the magic after this happened, and then forbid any of his children from leaving The Haven.

Ave was a lovely and upstanding magickeeper. She was very powerful, but The Higherup wanted more of her. So he pushed her through rigorous training, which ended up overloading her, leading to her death.
